Most Anticipated Releases of 2023: October to December
And with that, it’s time to look ahead to the Science Fiction and Fantasy reads I’m most excited for in the final quarter of 2023. I actually shook my head as I typed that, it’s insane to think about how quickly this year flew by. But even as the days grow colder, the book releases are heating up for fall and beyond. I find that it helps me to make these lists by focusing my attention to the highly anticipated titles I’d like to check out and keep me on track to read. While I’m under no illusions that I’ll be able to read them all, hopefully I can get to most of them (and in fact I did pretty well with my TBR last quarter!) as well as also put some new books on people’s radars.
Do you have any of these books on your list? What’s missing that I should be checking out? Are there any titles you’re anticipating for the next few months? And maybe I should just spend the rest of the year reading October 3rd releases?

October 3 is actual insanity! I’m already behind and it isn’t even October yet 😂 Also, is that a brand new Andrew Mayne series I spy in December?

I’m putting together my list for next week, and I also have very few books for December (oddly all are different from yours!) And yep, publishers must have gotten together and decided to release all the books on October 3rd😬

So many great books to come out in the next few months. Interestingly, Shield Maiden has been out in the UK for a while now as I picked up from the library a few months ago. It was a good read. I’m definitely looking forward to the Olympian Affair.

Yeah, some books here had earlier release dates in the UK, seems to happen a lot too with Harper Voyager or Hachette titles 🙂

In October I’m most curious about Starling House and Red River Seven. I loved the Ten Thousand Doors of January and The Pariah. For November it’s System Collapse all the way, though I’d like the read the first book in Baldree’s and Prose’ series. And for November any mention of Mayne will at least perk my interest a little, though it’s been a while since I’ve read anything of his.

Yes my December is going to be quiet and I’m hoping to do a lot of catch up that month. But I’m glad to have a new Andrew Mayne to look forward to as well 🙂

I can’t wait for Starling House as I’ve adored both of the authors other full length books (I still need to read the novellas). I’m hoping to finally read Luminaries sometime this month too so that I know whether it’s worth preordering the sequel. A couple of these are new to me so I’ll have to check them out. Hope the final quarter of 2023 goes well for you.

So after reading Starling House, I definitely think her previous novels were better, but I hope you’ll enjoy it! And the Luminaries was a bit messy in terms of plot, but I did enjoy it! I’m really looking forward to Hunting Moon.
