Friday Face-Off: Book I’m Excited About
Welcome to The Friday Face-Off, a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy! Each Friday, we will pit cover against cover while also taking the opportunity to showcase gorgeous artwork and feature some of our favorite book covers. If you want to join the fun, simply choose a book each Friday that fits that week’s predetermined theme, post and compare two or more different covers available for that book, then name your favorite. A list of future weeks’ themes are available at Lynn’s Book Blog.
This week’s theme is:
“Spring forward”
~ cover of a BOOK YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT
Locklands by Robert Jackson Bennett
This week we can compare the covers of two highly anticipated books, but there were so many upcoming titles I was excited about, it wasn’t any trouble finding one with multiple covers to compare. So here’s the third and final book of the Founders trilogy!
From left to right:
Del Rey (2022) – Hachette UK (2022) – German Edition (2022)
Winner:
These are all very nice! But the German edition stood out for me because of how Clef features so prominently. Not sure if it’s intentional, but it also looks like it’s underwater. Regardless, very cool effect.
But what do you think? Which one is your favorite?
Ohhh! I need to read Book 2 to prepare for the arrival of this new one – and I LOVE your choice! 🙂

Thanks, I think it’s a bit special with the main focus being on the key!

I had no idea this had three covers already! For me it’s the Del Rey covers all the way, I can’t resist the bright colors😁

I knew it would have a US and UK cover already, but I gotta say I was surprised by the appearance of the German edition 🙂

This is a series I really want to start, and I like the covers from Del Rey, possibly just because those are the ones I’m used to.

It’s a great series, though if you want to try some Robert Jackson Bennett, I highly recommend The City of Blades (and that whole trilogy) 🙂

That’s a fantastic recommendation, and is actually the reason I’m so looking forward to The Founders. I read and LOVED the City of Blades trilogy, though I read it out of order with book 2 first, then book 1, then book 3. 🙂

Oh you’ve read it already, that’s awesome! I read the trilogy as the books came out, but City of Blades was my favorite too. It had the best story and I love General Turyin Mulaghesh, one of hte best characters ever written 🙂

The Del Ray covers are just plain gorgeous, but the german cover is much more in theme with the actual book!

Never thought about that you are right! I think it says a lot more about the story than the other covers 🙂
