These are coming out quickly. I figured they were big old bricks that would take some time between them, not so?

Not so, apparently! The first book wasn’t actually a brick at all, the page length was very reasonable. And I love the release schedule. Book two is going to be out in six months, and I think I heard book 3 is out September of next year.
