Panels: Black Widow: The Name of the Rose
Wolverine might know a thing or two about sucking chest wounds, but nothing short of bleeding stumps is going to stop Black Widow from finding the people who attacked her in Black Widow: The Name of the Rose

you know I don’t think I’ve ever read a marvel but I really should, this one looks fun!

Black Widow is certainly an interesting character, especially since she’s one of the few humans in a world of superhumans, mutants, and gods.

It’s strange that I don’t read Marvel comics but I am big fan of the movies. But I think I have to at least try comics and compare them to the movie adaptations. Black Widow is certainly a favorite. She is somehow a bridge to realism.
IMO, all the Avengers movies plus the Guardians of the Galaxy were really great.

Hmmm…. I want to say yes, you should try the comics, but coming straight and only from the movies, that might not be a great idea… Because there is sooooo much history in the comics, and so many different versions. You can find the “essential reading” lists, but even that can be confusing because things are changed around so much for the movie.
I think Name of the Rose might work for you, though. There are elements, such as Captain America’s new identity, that will add more questions than answers to your read, but Black Widow herself is pretty true in this book.
