Friday Face-Off: High Stylized

Welcome to The Friday Face-Off, a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy! Each Friday, we will pit cover against cover while also taking the opportunity to showcase gorgeous artwork and feature some of our favorite book covers. If you want to join the fun, simply choose a book each Friday that fits that week’s predetermined theme, post and compare two or more different covers available for that book, then name your favorite. A list of future weeks’ themes are available at Lynn’s Book Blog.

This week’s theme is:

~ a HIGHLY STYLIZED cover

Mogsy’s Pick:

The Devourers by Indra Das

It’s a shame that one of my stylized covers is to a book I’ve not read yet, but I just love it so much! There are only two covers available, so this should be pretty straightforward.

Del Rey (2016) vs. Penguin (2015)

Winner:

Originally I had only the Del Rey cover in mind, but actually both are pretty cool. Different styles for different moods, I guess.

But what do you think? Which one is your favorite?

  1. I think the Del Rey cover is more highly stylized, but I prefer the Penguin cover. I love the main wolf head image and how it’s split, and how there’s a wolf silhouette along the treeline just inside the left eye on the horizon. Both cool covers, though.
