Waiting on Wednesday 02/19/20

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that first originated at Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. Either way, this fun feature is a chance to showcase the upcoming releases that we can’t wait to get our hands on!

The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher (October 6, 2020 by Gallery/Saga Press)
*Gasp* I need this, I need this now! Last year I adored horror-humor blend in The Twisted Ones and I can’t wait for another book by Ursula Vernon writing as T. Kingfisher.
“A young woman discovers a strange portal in her uncle’s house, leading to madness and terror in this gripping new novel from the author of the “innovative, unexpected, and absolutely chilling” (Mira Grant, Nebula Award–winning author) The Twisted Ones.
Pray they are hungry.
Kara finds these words in the mysterious bunker that she’s discovered behind a hole in the wall of her uncle’s house. Freshly divorced and living back at home, Kara now becomes obsessed with these cryptic words and starts exploring the peculiar bunker—only to discover that it holds portals to countless alternate realities. But these places are haunted by creatures that seem to hear thoughts…and the more you fear them, the stronger they become.
With her distinctive “delightfully fresh and subversive” (SF Bluestocking) prose and the strange, sinister wonder found in Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, The Hollow Places is another compelling and white-knuckled horror novel that you won’t be able to put down.”
Ooh that looks like a spooky read! Liking the cover too! Hope you enjoy this one once you get to read it!

Well, I already have the Twisted Ones on my wishlist, seems like I need to add this one to, especially with the mention of Pan’s Labyrinth and the ‘white knuckle horror’ description. How could I possible resist?

Sounds amazing. So far I’ve only read one of her books but loved it. I’m fascinated how she seems to write such a variety of things too.
