Waiting on Wednesday 08/30/17
“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that lets us feature upcoming releases that we can’t wait to get our hands on!
Killman Creek by Rachel Caine (December 12, 2017 by Thomas & Mercer)
Barely a month has passed since I read the first book, and the sequel already has a cover and synopsis! Good to know the novels of this series are on the fast track to being released, with Killman Creek set to drop this winter a mere five months after Stillhouse Lake. I love it when I don’t have long to wait, especially when it’s looking like this second installment will be just as intense and addictive as its predecessor.
“Every time Gwen closed her eyes, she saw him in her nightmares. Now her eyes are open, and he’s not going away.
Gwen Proctor won the battle to save her kids from her ex-husband, serial killer Melvin Royal, and his league of psychotic accomplices. But the war isn’t over. Not since Melvin broke out of prison. Not since she received a chilling text…
You’re not safe anywhere now.
Her refuge at Stillhouse Lake has become a trap. Gwen leaves her children in the protective custody of a fortified, well-armed neighbor. Now, with the help of Sam Cade, brother of one of Melvin’s victims, Gwen is going hunting. She’s learned how from one of the sickest killers alive.
But what she’s up against is beyond anything she feared—a sophisticated and savage mind game calculated to destroy her. As trust beyond her small circle of friends begins to vanish, Gwen has only fury and vengeance to believe in as she closes in on her prey. And sure as the night, one of them will die.”
I need to try more of her books
Oh so this is the follow on to Stillhouse Lake? Man I need to read that one!
It is! I believe it picks up right after the first book ended.
A bullet between the eyes is WAY more secure than any pansy super-max prison.
Of course, then half the books out there wouldn’t have sequels. Man, that is a real toss up!
For sure. As long as they’re alive and kicking, they’ll always come back to bite you in the ass 🙂

Maybe one day :=)
Had to avoid reading about it as I haven’t read the first one yet! Hope the sequel is as good as the first one for you!
Wow I can’t believe this one is coming out so soon. Maybe they sped up the release date since the first one was so popular. Glad you won’t have to wait TOO long!
I believe she may have written them all already and they’re just staggering the releases a few months at a time, but I’m definitely not complaining either way! 😀
I agree, I love when you don’t have to wait a year or more for a sequel. I must try this series one of these days😀
OMG yes! I need more from this series, especially after the explosive ending of Stillhouse Lake. What a relief that I won’t have to wait too long before this one comes out!
Killman Creek – what a name for a creek. 😀 I would never go near that creek. I’ve not read any of Caine’s adult books! Her “YA” series with Berkley (is it YA?) is really good though. I can’t wait for book four. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
Have a fabulous week, Mogsy. =)

Yeah, I think The Great Library series is considered YA. For a while, that was my only experience with her books too. I only recently tried her adult stuff with the first book of this series, Stillhouse Lake. 🙂
Yes! I want this – I hope it’s as good as the first!
