Waiting on Wednesday 02/05/20
“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that first originated at Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. Either way, this fun feature is a chance to showcase the upcoming releases that we can’t wait to get our hands on!

Peace Talks by Jim Butcher (July 14, 2020 by Ace Books)
Finally, it’s the next Dresden Files book, nuff said!
“Harry Dresden is back and ready for action, in the new entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files series.
When the Supernatural nations of the world meet up to negotiate an end to ongoing hostilities, Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard, joins the White Council’s security team to make sure the talks stay civil. But can he succeed, when dark political manipulations threaten the very existence of Chicago–and all he holds dear?
Peace Talks is the sixteenth novel in the Dresden Files series and follows Harry’s adventures after the events of Skin Game.”
I’m totally screwed. I can’t remotely remember what happened in Skin Game and only sorta remember the stuff before it but I’m waaaay too busy to reread any of them, and am still super excited for this! But also totally screwed.

I’m going to need a refresher too. Though Butcher has always been pretty good with catching the reader up with little reminders in the story, so I hope I’ll be okay just jumping in!

Yeah, 16 books…I can’t believe it’s still going. Guess he still has a few more Dresden books in him.

While I’m not a dresden fan, I do feel bad for those who are. It’s almost as bad as the Wheel of Time in terms of time frame…

I really did enjoy the first few in the series and should probably continue one day. I really want to read it as well as the Iron Druid series. Great choice!

I have yet to read a Harry Dresden novel, and yet I keep reading such good things about them, and about Jim Butcher’s work, in general. I’d really like to try them one of these days.

They’re really fun books! Though it’s been a few years since the last one. I hope I still remember all the stuff I need to know, lol!

Yeah, the series has been a little quiet the last few years as Butcher started working on some other stuff! But it’s back with book 16 this year 😀

Oh my, I can’t recall where I’m up to with this series – probably about 8 or 9. I need to put some effort into catching up with this, Toby Daye and the Iron Druid series.
