Most Anticipated Releases of 2019: October to December
Hard to believe it’s fall already! It’s time to look ahead to the Science Fiction and Fantasy reads I’m most excited about in the months of October to December. Not only is it fun to organize my reading and to make lists, they also have the added benefit of focusing my attention to the highly anticipated releases that I’d like to check out. This year, I decided to try something a little different by posting a list every quarter to make the TBR more manageable. There’s already an impressive tower of books on my to-read pile, and while I’m under no illusions that I’ll be able to read them all, hopefully I can get to most of them (and also put some new books on people’s radars)!
So what are your most anticipated releases for the final quarter of 2019? OMG, my October TBR, help!
October
October 1 – The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher, Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky, The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith, The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith, Aurora Blazing by Jessie Mihalik, Angel Mage by Garth Nix
October 8 – The True Bastards by Jonathan French, Fortuna by Kristyn Merbeth, How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse by K. Eason, The Remaking by Clay McLeod Chapman, The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh, The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
October 15 – Salvaged by Madeleine Roux, The Throne of the Five Winds by S.C. Emmett, Dark Pattern by Andrew Mayne, The Rosewater Redemption by Tade Thompson
October 22 – Interference by Sue Burke, Ghoster by Jason Arnopp
November
November 5 – Find Me Their Bones by Sara Wolf, Life and Limb by Jennifer Roberson, Deadly Little Scandals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Unnatural Magic by C.M. Waggoner, Novice Dragoneer by E.E. Knight, The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White,
November 12 – The Andromeda Evolution by Michael Crichton and Daniel H. Wilson, Flamebringer by Elle Katharine White
November 14 – Dispel Illusion by Mark Lawrence
November 19 – The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black,
November 26 – Starsight by Brandon Sanderson
December
December 3 – Anyone by Charles Soule, Blood of Empire by Brian McClellan
December 10 – Crownbreaker by Sebastien de Castell
December 17 – The Hanged Man by K.D. Edwards
The Vine Witch and Rory Thorne have me interested, and I really need to get back to Dispel Illusion too. I was going to jump right into the second book and got sidetracked.

Wow there are so many good books on this list I CAN’T EVEN! 😀 Which are you most looking forward to? I think from your list I’m most keen to try Unnatural Magic! Here’s my TTT post if you’re interested in Graphic Novels being released in Fall ❤ Jen

I’m looking forward to so many, I can’t choose! Hence I couldn’t even fit it all in a TTT post, I had to do something like this, lol! 😀

I see EE Knight is still pushing out books. What made you decide to pick up one of his?

I have never actually read EE Knight, and I only found out about this book when it was sent randomly to me. It sounded interesting so I figured I’d check it out 😀

The main three on here that I can’t wait for are The Queen Of Nothing, The Beautiful & Ninth House but I have quite a few on my TBR. Ive actually already reserved Angel Mage at the library too ☺️ and I’ve opened a few that I hadn’t heard of before in new tabs to check out.
I hope you get most of these read and enjoy them (: my Anticipated Reads for October is insane too 😅

Those three are among my top anticipated for sure! And they seem quite popular with everyone, judging from all the TTT posts I’ve been seeing today 😀 I hope they’ll be good or there will be lots of disappointed people, lol!

Yes I’ve seen them mentioned by a lot of people too. I’m pretty sure that Queen Of Nothing will be good – as I loved the first two – but I’m still scared that it will do something to crush my heart :L Anyway hopefully everyone enjoys them (:

Same! I expect it to crush my heart too, because it’s Holly Black, LOL! 😀

One addendum- Where Gods Fear to Go is out in December. Otherwise you’re list is perfect! But… ummm… how’re you gonna read 18 books next month?

Crap, I still haven’t read the second book of that trilogy! Or else I have a feeling WGFtG would be on this list too 😛
And I doubt I’ll get to all 18 next month, lol…but I’ll do my darnedest, haha 😀

There are way too many good books coming out. Looks like it might slow down a tad in December which is good because I’ll need that time to catch up! Plus all of us bloggers know we’ll be busy in December planning for 2020!

Yes, December is usually my catch up month because it’s so quiet. Probably why my mailbox has been a bit quiet these days too, since ARCs usually drop about 3 months before release date, and not much is coming out in December!

The Throne of the Five Winds is the only one I recognize from my TBR list, but I do want to catch up with Elle Katharine White’s series.

I hope you get to catch up soon! I really enjoyed Heartstone, but the sequel was where I felt White really got to spread her wings and make the world her own!

Wonderful! Queen of Nothing is almost here! I just finished The Wicked King today and I can’t wait to see how the trilogy wraps up – it could move in so many unpredictable directions…
And of course the third book in McClellan’s new trilogy…December cannot be here soon enough . 🙂

Dear God the October TBR just about gave me a panic attack, SO MANY of these are on my own list!! I’ve already had to restrain myself from grabbing things like Library of the Unwritten because I already have so many things in my stack. Fortuna, Throne of the Five Winds, Guinevere Deception, Starsight….TOO MUCH MAKE IT STOP! (But I want them all, so don’t stop?)

I know, October is going to do me in, lol. I doubt I’ll get to all the books here, but I’ll try…and I guess that’s what a lighter December is for – catching up! Dang, reminds me, I should start planning a bit so I’ll have some sci-fi books for Sci Fi November!

I know, I’m mentally blocking off November for mostly backlist sci-fi reads, but I’m realizing with Nov. 5th being the day to end all days, I’m going to need a lot of reading done in advance!

I love this post – just looking at all these books makes me happy, it also makes me incredibly tense (just thinking of the books I have for October) and have a serious onset of major grabby hands but I do have a few of these waiting to be read. I’m also going to camp at NG for the Mark Lawrence book! I’m glad December looks like a slightly more reasonable book – time to catch up and hopefully January too.
Great post.
Lynn 😀

So many books, we need more time! I’m a little more than 1/3 of the way through The Throne of the Five Winds. It’s slowly paced and feels like a grand political epic fantasy, perhaps similar to how Dune was full of dynastic politics. There are many characters, interesting cultures, and lots of details, many with footnotes explaining words and phrases. It takes some quiet time and concentration to read (at least for me), but I’m very much enjoying it, more so the further in I get.
I’ll be watching to see which of the books you’re able to get to and what you think of them. Thanks for the great list!
