Most Anticipated Releases of 2019: July to September
Summer is now in full swing! It’s time to look ahead to the Science Fiction and Fantasy reads I’m most excited about in the months of July to September. Not only is it fun to organize my reading and to make lists, they also have the added benefit of focusing my attention to the highly anticipated releases that I’d like to check out. This year, I decided to try something a little different by posting a list every quarter to make the TBR seem more manageable. There’s already an impressive tower of books on my to-read pile, and while I’m under no illusions that I’ll be able to read them all, hopefully I can get to most of them (and also put some new books on people’s radars)!
So what are your most anticipated releases for the third quarter of 2019? Looks like my July is going to quite a month for exciting new releases, while August will be relatively lighter. And I might as well just barricade myself in my house for the whole of September. Can’t talk, too busy trying to read myself out from under Mount TBR!

I didn’t realize so many books I was interested in reading was coming out so soon! I usually have a hard time making a list of anticipated reads, but there’s so many this year! Particularly excited to read Philosopher’s War, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and Harp of Kings. 😉

Yeah, I love making lists, but once they’re done and the covers are all staring back at you like that, it does put it in perspective just how many damn books are coming out in the next few months, lol! I’m both excited and overwhelmed 😛

Someone We Know is on my list too. I’m so glad to see another Shari Lapena thriller coming! swipe Right for Murder looks fun, and so does The Girl The Sea Gave Back. I’ll read anything Becky Chambers writes, of course haha, and Ten Thousand Doors of January is another one I’m hopeful for. Some good stuff coming out!

I was going to say that July is fairly quiet for me although I do want to read some of the ones in your list (especially Spin The Dawn which sounds amazing and has one of the most gorgeous covers that I’ve ever seen!) then I looked at my draft and realized how wrong I was :L
September definitely seems to be both of our busiest months though! I really need to start reading the Nevernight Chronicles as they sound amazing (: and I recently brought the first few Great Library books so I’ll have to get on with them too! There are some others on your list that I’m really looking forward to like Stormrise and The Magnolia Sword; as well as others that aren’t such as Serpent & Dove, There Will Come A Darkness and Bone China. I have no idea how September is so busy release wise!

Haha, I always think my list is manageable, until I make these lists and it’s like holy crap! But this is also why I need to make these lists because that way I can focus on the books I’m most interested in and prevent myself from being distracted by other new and shiny books I might find out about down the line (like that ever works 😉 )
Glad to hear you’re looking forward to a lot of these, and thanks for reminding me about Serpent & Dove! That’s on my maybe list, I guess I’ll see what the reviews are like before deciding to the plunge on it 😀

That’s a good reason for making them (: but yes it’s definitely still all too easy to get distracted by other new books :L I’m constantly adding new books to my TBR whenever I see other bloggers mention them :L

So many of these are high up on my list. I love these quarterly anticipated releases posts that you do – although they do make me want to add even more books – but that’s kind of the point really isn’t it 😀

I initially was going to list a few I’m really interested in but let’s be honest, there are just too many. I am really excited about The Toll though and hope to get to that arc soon. Man, September is killing it with new releases!

Where to start? If your virtual shelves in this post had been actual shelves in a bookstore, I would have walked away with quite an armful! 😀
I’ve had my eye on Rage of Dragons for a while now, and I’m waiting for some space (ah ah ah…!) on my TBR to read it. Darkdawn and The Bone Ships are on my “must read” list, and I’ve just read Lynn’s review of The Whisper Man so I’m beyond intrigued. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

A Little Hatred is my #1, but new R. J. Barker, Marillier, The Wolf’s Call and The Dragon Republic are must have, leave-everything-else-to-read-immediately books. 🙂

So many good books!! I’m very excited about Jade War in July, and definitely looking forward to Thrawn Treason! I’ve got an ARC for Spin the Dawn, hoping to get to that one soon.

Oh yes, I definitely need to make time for Star Wars books! So often tie-ins fall by the wayside even though I love them! Still need to get to Alphabet Squadron!

I loved Crowfall and hope you do too! I’m also cautiously optimistic for Wolf’s Call. Your list is pretty complete, only really missing Beneath the Twisted Trees next week and Age of Legend the week after.

I feel the same way about Wolf’s Call. I loved Bloodsong, but the rest of the trilogy didn’t quite live up to it. And I wasn’t crazy about his next series, I only read the first book. Returning to his Raven’s Tower world could be good, but I’m going to temper my expectations!
And I can’t believe I forgot Age of Legend! I’ll have to somehow work that in 😛

Ditto- I loved Bloodsong, then the rest were a disappointment compared to it. I took a quick peek at the new one and it looks like it’s written in the same style as Bloodsong (all Vaelin all the time), so here’s hoping it’ll deliver…🤞

I underestimated too, until I made this list. This fall is going to be huge, while putting this post together I took a peek at my October books and yikes…I’ll cross that bridge when I get there 😉
