Waiting on Wednesday 02/17/16
“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that lets us feature upcoming releases that we can’t wait to get our hands on!
Mogsy’s Pick:
Den of Wolves by Juliet Marillier: November 1, 2016 (Roc)
I love the Blackthorn & Grim series so much. I was very excited to see that the third book finally has a cover, and it’s beautiful. Do. Want. NOW. (Eek! Further thrilled when I saw that my review of Tower of Thorns appears to have been quoted for the following publisher’s description.)
“The “powerful and emotionally-charged”* fantasy series from the author of the Sevenwaters novels continues, as Blackthorn and Grim face haunting secrets and old adversaries…
Feather bright and feather fine, None shall harm this child of mine…
Healer Blackthorn knows all too well the rules of her bond to the fey: seek no vengeance, help any who ask, do only good. But after the recent ordeal she and her companion, Grim, have suffered, she knows she cannot let go of her quest to bring justice to the man who ruined her life.
Despite her personal struggles, Blackthorn agrees to help the princess of Dalriada in taking care of a troubled young girl who has recently been brought to court, while Grim is sent to the girl’s home at Wolf Glen to aid her wealthy father with a strange task—repairing a broken-down house deep in the woods. It doesn’t take Grim long to realize that everything in Wolf Glen is not as it seems—the place is full of perilous secrets and deadly lies…
Back at Winterfalls, the evil touch of Blackthorn’s sworn enemy reopens old wounds and fuels her long-simmering passion for justice. With danger on two fronts, Blackthorn and Grim are faced with a heartbreaking choice—to stand once again by each other’s side or to fight their battles alone…”
OMG! I didn’t know the new cover is out already, it is so pretty *pets* Congrats on getting blurbed, I love your reviews and you thoroughly deserve it!

I actually find this series less depressing than some of her other books I’ve read, so there’s that!

That’s awesome about the blurb! 😀
I can’t even think about reading Den Of Wolves yet, since I haven’t read the previous two books. I was going to buy more Juliet Marillier books the last time I went to Barnes & Noble… except the only one they carried was Tower of Thorns.

Argh, I hate it when the stores don’t have the previous books. That’s happened to you multiple times, hasn’t it? Didn’t something similar happen with the Red Rising series, they didn’t have the first book but only Golden Son?
And thanks 🙂

Yes. In fact, it happened with the Blackthorn & Grim books and the Red Rising trilogy during the same visit. Grrrrrr.

Yay – victory dance on your blurb – especially as it’s one of your favourite series!
I love the covers for these books – I think I would buy them even if I didn’t love them. I still need to read No.2 – March is the month! I have to finish my SPFBO first.
This cover is so gorgeous though. I spotted it a couple of days ago and expanded it on my screen so I could get a proper good look – I absolutely love it!
