“Cats never listen. They’re dependable that way; when Rome burned, the emperor’s cats still expected to be fed on time.” Seanan McGuire, Rosemary and Rue (October Daye #1)

This week’s topic: Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR
You know what I love and hate? 70s/80s/90s book covers. Many of them were so terrible, so absolutely laughable that they’re endeared to me now. So, this freebie goes out to some of the covers that have made me laugh until I cried. If you don’t like it…
You don’t need to know a thing about these books, just bask in the magnificence of these covers. Okay, all of them weren’t written in the 80s and one is a movie (like I wasn’t going to use a cover of Bruce Lee super punching a winged evil thing, okay). They’re in the spirit, though, and they are glorious. I might’ve slipped something extra in there. There were many other covers I could’ve added, but we would’ve been here all day. Click on them for their enlarged glory!
I want someone to draw me like their 80s ladies. ❤ Happy reading!
I do love the October Daye series!

I just finished the first book last night. I liked most of it enough to continue with the series.

LOL. Thanks! Still processing the ending, but this much I know: Connor is like the world’s biggest dork, a hot dork (I guess), but wow. I scream-laughed when she accidentally hit him and she was like “Who else would bark out in pain like a seal?” Connor, please.

WOW. This is epic ugliness at its finest. I think my favorite is the last ne Twilight of Briareus – that baby is creepy. If I have one complaint about Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga it is that the covers are generally in this style and many of them quite hideous. Thankfully they should NOT be judged based on their cover!

Yeah, my plan is to actually finish the series this year. I’ve only read Falling Free. I definitely know the content can be good. I rather liked the garish covers for that series over the new covers they’ve gotten on my Kindle.
Also, baby head is my favorite as well.

I’ve never seen that Game of Thrones cover before; I don’t know what Robot Commando or Talisman of Death are about, but those cover as badass (Talisman my favorite) and I want to read them; Raven: The Frozen God though… WTF??? XD XD
Outstanding collection of covers you pick Hahaha!

Not gonna lie, I’ve read many books based on the cover alone whether I hated the cover or loved it. LOL. Robot Commando, I remember being sort of a solo RPG type book where YOU are a dinosaur rancher. Same for Talisman of death except you’re the one who has the Talisman. Yeah, I’ve read or attempted to read many of these books, which is how they ended up on this list.

Haha! This is a great topic. That Child of Flame one and Twilight of Braireus one are terrifying.

Of course a book with a huge baby head on it does indeed have a somewhat interesting premise. Maybe not as interesting as you’d think it would be with that cover, but definitely interesting. LOL.
